On Play Tennis Day, I’ll celebrate with the world that I play tennis and guess what? I put it on my resume too ๐พ
Showing your hobbies to recruiters and potentical employers hobbies helps you bring your whole authentic self to the interview (and role!).
I like to call this resume section “Professional and Personal Development”.
๐พ Playing tennis shows off leadership, organization, logistics, and communication (again). I’ve captained my USTA teams which entails all of these things.
๐พ Playing tennis is a team sport and shows that I’m a team player. It’s not just my score that matters. It’s the score of all of us out there combined.
๐พ Playing tennis requires excellent communication. You call my ball or your ball. Otherwise, the ball runs down the middle between us (been there, done that).
๐พ Playing tennis requires you to constantly meet new people and learn how to adapt to new courts and surroundings.
Plus, sometimes your hobbies can be a conversation point in an interview.
Bring your whole self… hobbies and all… on your next resume!
PS. This is me and Regina. I just met her through the local Terri’s tennis ladder. Tennis is also very social ๐
