The dress code with (virtual) interviewing has changed A LOT.
Pants optional?
No jacket?
T-shirt?
Sweatshirt?
On my last round of interviews, I wore a Microsoft sweatshirt and no makeup.
I totally understand that internal interviews and the role make a big difference.
I also understand that CONFIDENCE was the best part of my outfit.
Thankfully, I work for a company that values authenticity and bringing your whole self to work.
— I am passionate about the work that I do to build better products for our customers. #CustomerObsessed
I’m also passionate about coaching more women in tech into roles like mine.
During my interviews, I shared about my career coaching.
— I’m proud of the work that I do. It’s not a secret.
— My interviewers actually thanked me for this endeavor.
When asked about a big project, I shared about volunteer work for my daughter’s school.
— It wasn’t paid work or glamourous with a $300 budget.
— But it made a BIG impact on a lot of lives.
— I was proud of the work that I did.
Next time you’re getting dressed for the interview, wear the CONFIDENCE that will transcend any outfit in your closet!
